[ His nerd offences have died down. Now it's time to explain. ]
Captain America and the Hulk got theirs from genetic alterations. Pushing the human limits to an extreme. Tony Stark has a robotic exo-suit that does essentially anything he wants.
[ Q starts counting with his fingers. ]
Hawkeye and Black Widow are just exceptionally good at fighting. Ah! The Scarlet Witch is magic as well.
[ So not really like muggle aurors then. George raises his eyebrows, not really understanding, but understanding that he's not going to. Muggles really will make anything up to ignore the fact that magic's everywhere. They've even got pretend witches. ]
[ He only ordered one straw with his cheeks just barely pink. #madlads
Thankfully, the showing was nearing its end. It was the Avengers, so there would always be some people seeing it. Possibly for the second time. Q led the way to the upper back. Not against the wall, no. It looked like they'd be relatively alone for the showing in that area anyway.
Some other kids their age were taking up the far back corner. Q thought George was good looking and everything, but why would you waste a trip to the cinema for that? Madness. He wanted to tut and then remembered he was actually 16 and a guy. ]
[ Not being versed in the culture of cinema-going, let alone the culture of teenagers sloping off to the pictures for a quick snog in a dark corner, George honestly barely glances at the other goers and doesn't at all take in what they're doing. He'd be confused if he did know. What, you're not clever enough to think of an easier place to sneak off to? For shame. ]
Yeah, alright.
[ He sits, having a bit of trouble navigating the swinging seat chair, but he manages to style it out okay. So now he's looking at a big screen in seats that look like quidditch stands. ]
[ Muggle stages are a bit sparse, then. That's what George is getting out of that. He just lifts his eyebrows a bit and doesn't comment - then looks visibly impressed when things start to come up on the big screen. Wow. Wait 'til dad hears about this.
He's rapturously silent the entire time, clearly getting into it, except to give a frankly embarrassing whoop of victory at one point when someone lands a particularly cool hit on a bad guy. It could not be more obvious this boy has never been to a cinema before in his life.
One noteworthy thing, however: during one or two tense scenes, he grips Jonathan's hand. It's not an expressly romantic gesture, no linking their fingers or anything, but just squeezing, George's palm on the back of Jonathan's hand. He's excited, alright?
And then, roll credits. George laughs breathlessly, still exhilarated. ]
[ George has always struck him as the type to wholeheartedly be himself. Combine that with general geekery and Q isn't surprised in the least at the intense reactions to the screen.
Except when his hand is gripped. Surely that's some--... No. No it seems to sincere. Perhaps he was just a dork like that. Who knew. He seemed a bit sheltered at times. Didn't matter. They were enjoying themselves immensely. ]
We have more to go. You never leave a Marvel movie early.
[ Everyone could notice the smile on Q's lips. He couldn't be more happy George was enjoying himself, that his first date was a success. ]

And everyone round here knows who they are?

[ How has he not seen Chris Evans? Then again, George seems significantly more into girls than Q would ever think of.
The cinema comes closer into view with hardly anyone in the queue. ]
Popcorn?
no subject
[ Not a single thought about who should be paying for what. In George's mind, if you offer something, you should be ready to see it through. ]
D'you get sweet or salted?
no subject
[ All the better. Q would rather give him a treat anyway. ]
But tonight I'm getting sweet.
[ Ah, now it was their turn. Tickets purchased and onto popcorn. Q gives a pointed look as they wait for that as well. ]
Just one straw?

Mental.
[ But the question makes him laugh a bit, returning the pointed look with a mischievous one of his own. ]
Go on then.

Bit of a small stage, isn't it?
no subject
You think so? I always thought it was a decent size.
[ Average theatre if nothing else, surely? The lights were dimming, anyway. The show was starting. Drink between them to share the straw. ]
